Where Yesterdays Live Sales - The Most Important Skill A 2 DVD Set Of Classic Sales Techniques

Sales - The Most Important Skill

A 2 DVD Set With Over 2 And A Half Hours
Of Wonderful Insights Into The Sales Process

For a small taste of this great DVD,
watch the preview below.

Want to learn sales and marketing techniques from the masters? Want to know how to improve your communication with your customers and others? Here is a great two DVD set of vintage and rare sales training films which will help you not only in business, but in life. Learn from "America's No. 1 Salesman"- Elmer Wheeler. Elmer covers some of the most important principles of sales. Let’s face it, we are all selling something everyday. It doesn’t matter if it’s a product or ourselves, we all need help in this area.

I’ve been involved in sales and marketing since the mid 1960s. I know, a really long time. Over this span of 40 plus years I’ve heard, attended or taken seminars from some of the best the sales and marketing area have to offer. I listened to the immortal words of Zig Ziglar, studied his books and trained with his people. New gurus such as Tony Robbins and his type have great books, tapes and seminars available. The big problem with these new folks is that they are very expensive and, truth be told, there is not much new in this area that hasn’t been covered, taught and used for literally decades.

This two DVD set covers so many principles that can applied to virtually any type of business. These truths can be used in a brick and mortar store, a service business, an internet business or by an independent rep/distributor. It doesn’t matter if you are selling a physical product, a service or an idea. The time tested concepts in this set will help you reach another level.

While the topics of the individual movies may not deal with your specific situation, the principles can be readily applied to virtually any situation.

Why pay an inflated price for today’s gurus, when you can have the original masters.

Following are the wonderful training films included in this two DVD set:

Volume 1

The Things People Want (1948)

Distinctive sales training film on the hierarchy of human needs, starring a young John Forsythe. Learn the real reasons why folks make purchases. If you understand these principles, you will improve your business. Learn how to apply the reasons people buy —comfort, economy, safety, durability, appearance and performance. Figure out which of these six reasons your prospect is interested in and you’re on your way to making a sale.

The Face in the Mirror (1940)

Introspective psychology for salespeople: "Would you buy anything from the salesman you see in the mirror?" This charming Jam Handy sales training film. shows a salesman on his day off who gets sent by his wife on a shopping spree in one of those downtown areas that don’t exist anymore. There he deals with salesmen from terrible to excellent in all the different stores he goes into. You’ll find yourself being swept along by the message of this film that selling mainly involves being friendly, helpful, and considerate of your customers, along with knowing your product and being enthusiastic about it. The successful salesmen show a masterful knowledge of psychology in the way they smoothly convince the main character to buy without making him feel like he’s been sold something. And the simple, commonsense advice given in the film makes sales seem so much less threatening to folks just starting out in business.

Man to Man (1947)

Clark Howat plays three roles, Bill, his better self, and his subconscious self! Along for the ride are Hardware great Rivers Petersen and "America's Greatest Salesman" Elmer Wheeler. While the movie covers sales for a gun store, it’s really about the fact that selling guns is no different then selling any other type of product which is bought with discretionary dollars. I particularly liked the coverage of dealing with customers who think they know more then you do. I know we’ve all run into that type of person. Learn how to really deal with them. Great ideas in this film.

Volume 2

Trader Thorne (1956)

Hugh Beaumont (of "Leave it to Beaver" fame) is the greatest Ford salesman of all time. Watch how he trains a new salesman in the tricks of the trade. While the film deals with car sales, the underlying principles are applicable to so many areas of business. You’ll see what it takes to really succeed.

Hired! (1940)

This is a particularly great film with tips that apply if you want to use affiliates or reps to also sell your products, expand your business and increase your profits. You’ll see how to motive them, help them succeed and by extension, helping your business. See how to communicate in a positive fashion with others while still getting your points across. This film makes an interesting effort to educate you about professional sales management, at a time (1940) when marketing management as an academic field was still in its infancy. Great stuff.

Selling America (1938)

Dramatization of a modern salesperson getting advice from Ben Franklin. Ben covers his principles of selling and goes over how they apply in a modern situation. Remember the Franklin close? Learn Ben’s 5 points of selling and watch him use them in real life situations. Then apply them to what you do to increase your business and profits.

Out of This World (1954)

Sales training film for DuPont Film Division featuring an angel and devil monitoring the activities of bakery salesmen on earth, and explaining how packaging helps to sell food. I know, bread? Trust me, this film will show you how to improve how you interact with customers, venders and others. It has great lessons on how to network with others delivered with a subtlety that you don’t often see today. It is a bit campy, but the underlying message is true to the spirit of this training set of DVDs. You will get a lot of good info from this film, and a few laughs along the way.

Please note that the DVDs produced are done so with the original film footage. We have deliberately left in all the slight imperfections which adds to the nostalgia, charm and wonder of these vintage DVDs.
